Josh Hawkins 9d17e55052 treat timed-out VOD segments as motion search errors
With rw_timeout, the HLS demuxer skipped a timed-out segment and exited cleanly, so a run reported success with a hole in it, and when the keyframe probe and the decode lost different segments the equal frame counts paired frames with the wrong timestamps. The keyframe path now requires the probe to cover the whole run without a gap over 5 s, a decode whose stderr shows a skipped segment fails the run, and a cadence decode more than 5 s short of the run's duration fails it too, so these runs land in segments_with_errors. The keyframe probe polls should_stop and is killed on cancel, probe_video_dimensions gets the read timeout, and a user's own cancelled job no longer blocks their next search while it still counts toward the global cap.

Frigate NVR™ - Realtime Object Detection for IP Cameras

License: MIT

Translation status

[English] | 简体中文

A complete and local NVR designed for Home Assistant with AI object detection. Uses OpenCV and Tensorflow to perform realtime object detection locally for IP cameras.

Use of a GPU or AI accelerator is highly recommended. AI accelerators will outperform even the best CPUs with very little overhead. See Frigate's supported object detectors.

  • Tight integration with Home Assistant via a custom component
  • Designed to minimize resource use and maximize performance by only looking for objects when and where it is necessary
  • Leverages multiprocessing heavily with an emphasis on realtime over processing every frame
  • Uses a very low overhead motion detection to determine where to run object detection
  • Object detection with TensorFlow runs in separate processes for maximum FPS
  • Communicates over MQTT for easy integration into other systems
  • Records video with retention settings based on detected objects
  • 24/7 recording
  • Re-streaming via RTSP to reduce the number of connections to your camera
  • WebRTC & MSE support for low-latency live view
